Following the match, the captain of Hanoi FC, Nguyen Van Quyet, made noteworthy statements to the media regarding the foreign players.
“The biggest difference, as you all witnessed, was in the second half when we added quality local players. I emphasize that in Vietnamese football, our domestic players are more than capable of playing in Korea or Japan. The important thing is whether they have the confidence or not,” said the Hanoi FC captain.

We played calmly and showcased our style of football.”
The 32-year-old striker expressed his regret about the result in the opening match against a team that has won the prestigious continental tournament three times.
“In a Champions League match like this, we matched the opponent, sometimes even surpassed them. I feel a bit sorry for Hanoi FC. In our first match after many years returning to the tournament, scoring a goal was the team’s never-give-up effort. I hope the players integrate quickly to continue striving,” Văn Quyết said.
